Yesterday was one of those days.... Quincy had his two month check up appointment. This of course included a round of the mean routine shots. I personally think it's harder the younger they are. I can't explain to him what's about to happen and why. If that wasn't bad enough, while our Pediatrician Dr. Hung was checking him out, he got his poor little fingers stuck under the full length mirror that's over the exam table. To make matters even worse, after we got home, he had an adverse reaction to one of the combination shots. The injection site on his left thigh swelled up to the size of a bright red tennis ball. Add uncontrollable crying and sure enough..... this landed our slightly over reacting new family in the Children's Hospital Emergency Room. Thank heavens he's ok!! A little fussy today, but for the most part he's fine. However, as we were driving out of the parking garage last night, I glanced up at the brightly lit hospital rooms. I could only imagine what the parents were going through in those rooms. My heart literally hurt for them. It also made me feel SO unbelievably thankful and blessed that we have two children that are perfectly healthy. Not to mention... we are so lucky to have such a wonderful state of the art facility in our own backyard. Way to go Seattle's Children's Hospital!!

Oh my goodness! He is already 2 months! It goes by way too fast! I'm am so glad that Quincy is okay and that everything turned out to be okay. None of my kids have ever had a reaction to shots~ how scary! He's one tough kid!
